Your situation
The cluster is going away. Ten years of Hive and Impala logic have to go somewhere and still be right.
Hardware end of life, a vendor's end of support or a cloud mandate has put a date on the Hadoop estate. The data is the easy part; the Hive and Impala queries, the scripts and the schedules around them are the logic the business runs on. Novuz converts them by rule to Databricks or Fabric, reconciles every object, and prices the estate before you start.
What is happening
What is actually happening?
The platform has a decommission date. The estate was built by teams that have moved on and the orchestration lives in cron, Oozie or scripts nobody owns. The temptation is to move the data and rewrite the logic later; later arrives with the decommission date.
The cost of waiting
What does waiting cost?
- Hardware and support for a platform with a date on it.
- The risk of a decommission that leaves logic behind and reports wrong.
- Rewriting by hand at the pace of the two people who understand the cluster.
In three business days
What does the estate assessment give you?
- Every Hive and Impala object and script counted and banded, with lineage across the cluster.
- Dead code and orphaned jobs, with evidence.
- A fixed price for the conversion and the first domain to move.
- A plan that ends before the decommission date.
Honest fit
Who should not do this?
- Estates whose logic is mostly Spark code already; that is a re-platform, not a conversion.
- Estates under about 300 objects.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Which Hadoop components does Novuz cover?
Hive and Impala SQL, the scripts around them and their schedules, to Databricks or Fabric. Spark code, MapReduce and custom UDF libraries are assessed case by case and stated plainly.
What about the orchestration?
Rebuilt as Databricks Workflows or Fabric pipelines with the original dependencies; the assessment maps it first.
How is the result proven?
Each object gets a reconciliation report: row counts, aggregates and sampled rows against the original on the same inputs, misses listed by line.
