Novuz vs LeapLogic
LeapLogic covers far more sources than we do, including Oracle, Informatica, DataStage, Netezza, SAS and mainframe, and targets AWS and Google Cloud services as well as Databricks, Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric. Impetus does not publish its pricing or where the software runs, while Novuz publishes both and produces a reconciliation report for every object. Here are the facts, sourced from material Impetus publishes.
Side by side
How do Novuz and LeapLogic differ?
What each tool converts, what it produces and where it runs.
| Novuz | LeapLogic | |
|---|---|---|
| Targets | Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake | AWS (Redshift, EMR, Glue), Azure (Synapse, HDInsight, Data Factory), Google Cloud (BigQuery, Dataproc), Databricks including Delta Lake, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, plus dbt, Airflow and Power BI. |
| Sources | SQL Server (T-SQL), SSIS, Teradata including BTEQ, Hadoop (Hive, Impala), Snowflake | Data warehouses (Teradata including BTEQ, Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server, Vertica), ETL (Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Talend, ODI, Ab Initio and others), Hadoop (Hive, Impala, Spark, Oozie), SAS, mainframe (COBOL, JCL), BI tools, schedulers and Snowflake. |
| How conversion works | Fixed, versioned rules convert about 95% of objects with no model calls. A resolver handles the rest, and an engineer approves each change. | A pattern-based transformation engine with a continuously evolving rules engine. Impetus cites up to 95% automation. |
| Use of language models | None for the rule-converted share. Resolver changes are approved by an engineer. | See Impetus documentation |
| Output | Converted code for the chosen target, plus a reconciliation report for every object. | An executable package with cloud-native orchestrators. For Databricks: notebooks, jobs, workflows and Delta Live Tables. |
| Validation | A reconciliation report for every object. Reconciliation is typically above 95% on first pass. | Schema, business logic, record-level and aggregate-level validation, auto-generated reconciliation scripts and cell-by-cell validation. |
| Where it runs | Inside your environment, as a Docker container or VM. | See Impetus documentation |
| Price | Fixed price per scope, set after a $3,000 assessment delivered in three business days. | See Impetus documentation. Impetus lists free web and desktop trials. |

When to choose
Should I choose Novuz or LeapLogic?
- Choose LeapLogic if your estate includes Oracle, Informatica, DataStage, Netezza or mainframe code. We do not cover those today.
- Choose LeapLogic if your estate includes SAS, BI reports or schedulers such as Control-M that you want converted in the same program.
- Choose LeapLogic if your target is a native AWS or Google Cloud service such as Redshift, Glue or BigQuery.
- Choose Novuz if your scope is SQL Server, SSIS, Teradata, Hadoop or Snowflake and you want a fixed price set after a three-day, $3,000 assessment.
- Choose Novuz if conversion must run inside your environment and you need a reconciliation report for every object.
