Your situation

Thousands of scripts. Two people who know what they do. One has given notice.

The estate runs because two people know which jobs matter and which have not run since 2019. One of them is leaving, and the plan to migrate "when we have time" has become urgent. Novuz reads the whole estate in three business days: every object counted, lineage mapped, dead code identified with evidence, so the knowledge is on paper before it leaves, and the conversion is priced while they are still there to confirm it.

What is happening

What is actually happening?

The estate was never documented because the people who built it were still there. Hiring a replacement who can read fifteen years of someone else's BTEQ or T-SQL will take months and they will not know what matters. Every week that passes, more of the estate becomes code nobody can explain.

The cost of waiting

What does waiting cost?

  • The handover window, which closes on a date you already know.
  • Months of a new hire reverse-engineering what the assessment produces in three days.
  • Converting dead code later because nobody is left to say it is dead.

In three business days

What does the estate assessment give you?

  • The inventory: every object, banded, with lineage, which is the documentation you never had.
  • The dead-code list with evidence, for the leaver to confirm while they can.
  • A fixed conversion price and first domain.
  • A conversion that is rule-based, so the new team can read and maintain the output instead of inheriting another mystery, and pipelines their agents can operate.

Honest fit

Who should not do this?

  • Estates under about 300 objects, where a handover document is enough.
  • Teams with no intention of moving platform; the inventory alone is useful, but it is not what the assessment is priced for.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can the assessment run before the person leaves?

Three business days from receiving code or the discovery report; if the notice period is longer than that, yes, and their confirmation of the dead-code list is the most valuable hour of the handover.

Does the converted code need the same two people?

No. Rule-based output follows the target platform's conventions agreed in the assessment, and every object has a report explaining what it does and proving it.

Does Novuz need to see the code?

Run the discovery container inside your network and send only the report, or send the code under NDA.
